Dr. Katia De Marco, ND
Naturopathic Doctor
|
Dr. De Marco believes that health is a reflection of our physical, emotional, and mental well-being, and that true health comes when these elements are all in balance. Using diet and lifestyle medicine, traditional herbal remedies, and acupuncture, as well as IV therapy, BHRT, and prescribed pharmaceuticals when necessary, Dr. De Marco aims to support the body and its innate ability to bring itself back to health. She works with you to help you get to the root cause of your health concerns. She also believes that education plays a critical role in feeling empowered about health, and loves to help her patients understand what is going on for them. She has a special interest in digestive health, women's health, and autoimmunity. Dr. De Marco grew up in Montreal, QC in an Italian family; she speaks fluent French and conversational Italian. She graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Ontario in 2017, and followed her love of plants and trees out west to BC and is happy to call Victoria her new home. |
Violet Medécigo
|
Violet is our front line Administrative Manager and back-up testing technician. She has been with us for 25 years. She is also our Thermography Technician (see our services page for details) and a Registered Cardiology Technologist (she performs our Cardio-Screening Test and ECGs). In the evenings, she works from home as a Holter/Ambulatory Monitor Scanner. Born and raised on the Island, she just can't leave. She loves to travel: most often to Mexico to visit her in-laws. There are just so many amazing places to see in this world. With Australia and Italy being among her favourites, there is still so much more to experience and appreciate. She is most passionate about animals, and knows she should have been a Veterinarian; please tell her all about your fur-babies. |
Shelby FitzGeraldAdministrative Assistant
|
Shelby is our new Administrative Assistant. She did a work experience with us when she was in high school and, after getting some experience and travelling to Australia, is now with us part-time.
She is a true believer in paying attention to what our body is telling us. She thinks our body has an amazing wisdom and healing capacity and it is even more powerful with individualized supports. When she experienced a motor vehicle accident as a teenager, she was introduced to even more practitioners to learn how to re-teach her body how to live with chronic pain. To help achieve her own unique balance, Shelby participates regularly in TCM, Acupuncture, Naturopathy, Chiropractic, different types of Physiotherapy, Neuro-ophthalmology, Meditation and so on. She utilizes allopathic medicine and holistic medicine to achieve a sense of wellness, so she can achieve the best quality of life. She is also working on her Reflexology certification, so we hope to have her do some reflexology in the future. Shelby enjoys traveling (particularly Australia), reading books and spending time with her dog. |
