Naturopathic Medicine

Picture
Naturopathic Medicine identifies and addresses the root cause of illness by utilizing a full range of diagnostic tests. It promotes health and wellness through natural non-invasive therapies and treatments.
Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) are licensed and regulated to provide primary care or work in conjunction with your medical doctor as part of your healthcare team. NDs are trained as general practitioners in complementary medicine to assist patients in disease prevention and management.
As primary care practitioners, NDs are extensively trained to handle a variety of health issues and concerns. They specialize in early diagnosis and treatment and are experts in prevention. With a wide range of non-invasive therapies, NDs provide comprehensive, individualized care with a focus on restoring and maintaining health.

Naturopathic medicine place an emphasizes the promotion of health, prevention of disease, patient education and individual responsibility. Naturopathic Doctors individualize treatment based upon the objective observation of the nature of health and disease, blending centuries-old natural and non-toxic therapies with current advances in the study of health and human systems, covering most aspects of family health from prenatal to geriatric care. Treatments are continually re-examined in the light of scientific advances.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Picture
Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)  has formed a unique system to diagnose and cure illness over thousands of years. In TCM, the treatment of illness is based primarily on the diagnosis and differentiation of syndromes. TCM treatment starts with the analysis of the entire system, and then focuses on the correction of pathological changes through re-adjusting of the functions of the various organs.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners (TCMPs) evaluate  the cause, mechanism, location, and nature of a disease as well as the confrontation between the pathogenic factor and body resistance. They base their treatment not only on the symptoms, but differentiation of syndromes. Therefore, patients with an identical disease may be treated by a TCMP in various ways. On the other hand, different diseases may have the same underlying syndrome and are therefore treated in similar ways.

Clinical diagnosis and treatment in Traditional Chinese Medicine are mainly based on the Yin-Yang and Five element theories. These theories apply the phenomena and laws of nature to the study of the physiological activities and pathological changes of the human body and its interrelationships. The typical TCM therapies include acupuncture, herbal medicine, and Qi-gong exercises. With acupuncture, treatment is accomplished by stimulating certain areas of the external body. Herbal medicine acts on zang-fu organs internally, while Qi-gong tries to restore the orderly information flow inside the network through the regulation of Qi.
