Important Announcements/Information
We hope everyone had a relaxing holiday season with some fun mixed in.
There will not be a January newsletter as we are already half way through the month, almost, so we'll highlight a couple of things here: 1) As we just opened last week, our supplements will be arriving later this week and early next week. As always, we recommend pre-ordering or calling ahead to make sure we have what you are looking for. 2) There will not be anyone immediately available at the front desk to answer the phones, etc., on the following dates and times: Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026 from 2-4pm; and Friday, Jan. 16, 2026 from opening until ~10:15am. Dr. Yam will help out however he can; otherwise, Violet will get back to you as soon as she is able to once she is back in the office. We hope everyone has healthy start to 2026; a new year full of things that have not happened yet ;)
SUPPLEMENTS (*UPDATED October 10/25*)
* Pre-Ordering is still recommended * It appears that we are mostly back on track for having supplements consistently in stock. We still recommend pre-ordering or calling/emailing ahead to ensure that we have what you are looking for as sometimes companies have supplements on back-order (or in-production). This is highly recommended if you are wanting more than 1 bottle of the same supplement as we do not carry large quantities of each supplement. If we do not have what you need in stock, there may be a substitution available if we have a comparable supplement. We thank you all for your patience and continued support. We hope this is the continued end of the long delays. |
Dr. Christopher Yam, D.TCM
Designation/Degree and Direct Billing We are not sure where the confusion comes from (perhaps because his father, Dr. Peter Yam was a Naturopathic Doctor) but we seem to be having to post this every month or two. Please, when you are referring family or friends, let them know… Dr. Chris Yam is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, D. TCM, which is different from a Naturopathic Doctor, ND. We are not allowed to bill under ‘Naturopathic services’ for ANY appointments with Dr. Chris Yam, D.TCM; we can ONLY bill under ‘Acupuncture.’ Unfortunately, Extended health companies do not have a category for Dr. of Traditional Chinese Medicine (though we feel they should as D. TCM is so much more than just Acupuncture), so we are limited to the Acupuncture aspect of his degree for billing directly to extended health companies. * Please check with your plan as to what coverage amount you have for Acupuncture. ** Please also note that there are some plans that do not cover Acupuncture or will not let us direct bill (i.e. Greenshields only allows us to bill on your behalf – you pay us and they re-imburse you). Effective July 15, 2024, as per the BC Government, we now must charge a fee for new re-usable and paper bags. We highly recommend that you bring your own bags to your appointment, or supplement pick-up, to avoid any additional charges. |
